Thermagy remains strategically focused on innovative applications associated with conversion of thermal to electrical energy, energy storage and thermal management.

After a period of research and development, Thermagy has evolved into a high-tech scale-up. The company is capable of delivering advanced solutions for thermoelectric energy conversion in extreme conditions. Its highly qualified team develops and provides advanced components for various aerospace and defence applications, as well as thermally critical assemblies for combined heat and power systems. The new name captures the core of the company’s focus and better reflects its scope and vision toward the future.
Thermagy stands for the ability to imagine and realize thermal-electrical energy conversion solutions. “We are always pushing boundaries in energy conversion technology and streamlining energy solutions for extreme conditions,” says Maarten den Heijer, CEO.

Announcing the first publication within the BLAZETEC framework!

Announcing the first publication within the BLAZETEC framework!

We are proud to announce that the first scientific paper within the framework of the BLAZETEC activities has just been published in Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells. The article, titled "Inverted p/n InGaAs-based thermophotovoltaic converters via control of Zn out-diffusion from InP layers", presents innovative results on how to minimize the effect of Zn diffusion and its effect in inverted p/n structures. This publication marks an important milestone for the project, showcasing our commitment to advancing cutting-edge research and finding new and sustainable solutions.

The paper is open-access (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.solmat.2025.113927) and you can find it also in the Zenodo repository of the BLAZETEC project!

1-year project meeting in Neuchâtel

1-year project meeting in Neuchâtel

✨ One year into the BLAZETEC journey, our consortium came together at CSEM’s headquarters in Neuchâtel for a two-day project meeting (July 28–29).

It was more than just an update: it was an opportunity to reflect on the progress achieved so far, exchange perspectives, and strengthen the collaborative spirit that drives our work. Together, we explored the state of advancements and set the foundations for the next steps of the project.

Moments like these remind us how crucial teamwork and shared vision are in tackling ambitious challenges.

🌍 The journey continues... stay tuned for what comes next!

The 2nd project meeting was held in Madrid!

We are glad to announce that the 2nd Meeting of the BLAZETEC Project took place on February 27th, 2025, hosted in Madrid by our partner UPM. This M6-meeting is related to the first months of the project and brought together all partners for in-depth discussions and strategic collaboration.

During the meeting, we reviewed key updates and progress across various Work Packages (WP1, WP2, WP3, and WP5), addressed critical challenges, and defined the next steps for the project's development.

The meeting concluded with clear action points and timelines to ensure contionous progress. Partners shared essential updates, raised important concerns, and aligned on strategies to move forward efficiently, ensuring that all project objectives are met. In the near future, we will focus on finalizing deliverables, managing risks, and optimizing designs for the upcoming stages.

We look forward to sharing more updates as we continue working together toward the achievement of our goals!

BLAZETEC presented at TPV 15 and GiTe 2025 conferences

First participations to communicate and disseminate about the project

On behalf of the Consortium, Daniele M. Trucchi and Alessandro Bellucci presented an overview of the project during the TPV 15 conference (Madrid, 1-3 October 2024) and GiTe 2025 (Roma, 11-12 February 2025). SInce the project is at the early stage of development, the presentations focused on describing objectives and stratetegies of implementation. The audience appreciated the effort in the BLAZETEC theconology challenge and in the concept of hybrid solid-state converters for thermal batteries.
